Samoa's capital is Apia, which is also the biggest town of the country. Samoa consists of two main islands: Savaii in the west and Upolu in the east. Flights to Samoa usually go to Upolu Island, with the town of Apia. The highest mountain peak on Savaii has 1858 m altitude.
East of these two islands are located some more islands which belong to the United States (in the form of an unorganized unincorporated territory): Tutuila, Tau and Rose. The capital of American Samoa (in Samoan Amerika Samoa) is Faratogo.
The official languages of Samoa are English and Samoan. Samoan is also spoken in American Samoa.

This is our Map of the World with original scripts (original size 70 x 100 cm), from which the detailed map shown above has been cut out. The numbers of city inhabitants and vegetational zones were researched by hand for every country, by using the sources listed below. This procedure prevented the map from containing traditional errors provoked by simply copying such information from previous maps.
