Muscles and muscle bundles of the human body are shown here on the model of a male body shown from both sides.
You see their course and the places where they meet and attach to the bones.
The left foot of the male is slightly elevated in order to show us what the muscles of the lower leg look like if one part of the foot is touching the floor. You see how they have contracted and in doing so have raised the heel.
In some places, the muscle bundles are cut open to reveal a cross section.
The ribs are also laid open and you can see the oesophagus nestled in there.
A bone of the right shoulder is visible and the way the muscles insert on it.
The course of the muscles in the right hand and the right foot is demonstrated in the same way.
The muscles of the face are also shown.
The spinal column is easily detected, along with the navel and ligaments.
The ligaments of the knee are clearly seen, as are those in foot and hand.
And you can imagine what amount of flexing and relaxing is necessary to enable me to contentedly stroke my stomach after a good meal, not to mention writing my name.
