Here they are all to be seen.
We begin with the lion, the leopard, the cheetah and the golden cat on one side, and go to the kusimanse or dwarf mongoose on the other.
Some are well - known, others less well-known, some are big some are small.
All are meat-eaters.

Lions were once widespread around the Mediterranean.
They appear in Greek Mythology in several capacities.
The Nemean lion was depicted as a vicious monster.
It was one of the 12 labours of Hercules to kill it.
There is another story where a runaway slave pulls a thorn out of a lion’s paw.
As punishment for running away the slave is to be thrown to the lion. The animal recognizes the slave and refuses to kill him.
We also know lions from The Bible.
Lions have also played a part in many other ancient cultures.
Pharaohs in Egypt were depicted as Sphinxes – a lion with a human head. The most famous of these is the Great Sphinx of Giza.
The Cheetah is mainly to be found in Africa.
It is the fastest land-animal in the world.
It can reach a speed of 75 mph but can only last around 400 yards at this speed.
The animal names appear in English, French, German and Latin.
